To celebrate Dr. Birdwhistell’s life work and build upon his remarkable contributions to the University of Kentucky and beyond, UK Libraries has established the Dr. Terry L. Birdwhistell Endowment and aims to raise an additional $500,000 by the time he is officially inducted in September 2025.

UK Libraries is thrilled to announce the opening of the American Archive of Marina and Anastasia Tsvetaeva, one of the largest collections on the authors in the world outside of Russia and the most comprehensive in North America. The opening was celebrated with a public lecture by Tsvetaeva scholar Dr. Molly Blasing on Dec. 3.

This Friday is National STEM Day, and we’re inviting all faculty, staff, and students to help us celebrate at the King Library Annex (formerly the Science & Engineering Library)! The Open Education Intern will work with the Affordable Course Content Librarian to learn about the theory and current practice of open education. Researchers hoping to visit UK Libraries’ Special Collections Research Center next year may be eligible for fellowship funds to cover their domestic travel expenses. The Claude Sullivan Research Fellowship is open to researchers whose work would benefit from onsite access to archival materials housed in UK Libraries’ collections, including the Big Blue Sports Archive and materials on the legendary sportscaster Claude Sullivan.
