Accessing Course Reserves

Course Reserves may consist of materials owned by the library, such as books or journals, or personal materials owned by the instructor, including:

  • Photocopies
  • Lecture notes
  • Online resources or digital files

Reserves may be held in physical form at one of our campus libraries or provided in digital form through Canvas.

Search for Course Reserve lists using InfoKat Discovery and your instructor’s name, the course title, or the course code.

Borrowing policies for Course Reserves differ from other library materials:

  • You may only borrow three reserves at a time
  • Items may not be renewed
  • Loan periods are shorter than loan periods for other items

Placing Materials on Reserve

We accept requests for both physical reserves and electronic reserves. To place material on reserve, whether you are beginning a new list or adding to an existing list, please fill out the Course Reserves Request Form below.

Please note, requests are:

  • Processed in the order they are received
  • May be subject to deadlines to ensure availability during high-volume request periods
  • Accepted any time during the semester
