Ten teams submitted films at the end of last week's exhilarating 48 Hour Film Race. On Friday night, filmmakers, friends, and family gathered for a screening and awards ceremony that celebrated the cinematic handiwork of all the race participants.

UK Libraries is pleased to welcome Kentucky treasure and nationally bestselling author Silas House as the featured speaker for the 2024 Edward F. Prichard Lecture. House will speak on the ways in which his literary work addresses environmental, working class, and Appalachian issues and the intersection of LGBTQ+ and rural identities. The Prichard Lecture will be held on Thursday, March 21 at 5pm in the Young Library Auditorium. RSVPs are required.
A partnership between UK Libraries, the Center for the Enhancement of Learning & Teaching (CELT), and Emily DeWitt, a Lecturer in the Department of Dietetics & Human Nutrition, has resulted in the creation of a new tool for library users who use screen readers.
Last month, UK Libraries held its annual Research & Innovation Day, drawing together librarians, archivists, staff members, and graduate assistants from across the organization to share their work and research and connect with their colleagues. This year’s event featured 33 presenters sharing 21 projects that reached into every corner of the vast field of librarianship.
