UK Libraries users looking for a familiar name among our branch locations may notice that something seems to be missing.

Never fear, dear Cats! The Science & Engineering Library (SEL) has not fallen into a black hole, or catalyzed into an aqueous solution, or been rendered statistically insignificant (and you can still find all the astrophysics, chemistry, math, and other STEM Collections there that you’ve been accustomed to).

The SEL is now one of several library spaces in the King Library Annex. It’s the same building with a different name – and some exciting new offerings inside.

On the Ground Floor of the Annex is UK Libraries’ newest space, The Stacks: Digital Scholarship Center, the site of specialized equipment, resources, and events dedicated to digital and data-intensive scholarship.

The Third Floor is home to the SEL you’ve always loved. It’s where users can find their one-stop-shop for research help at the Information Desk desk along with first-come, first-served study rooms and the SEL’s print collections.

The Fourth Floor is the home of the Maps Library, which holds the Gwen Curtis Map Collection and the GIS Lab, along with ample space for individual and group study.

All three of these spaces will operate during King Library Annex open hours, and users can find help by emailing KingLibAnnex@uky.edu or calling (859) 257-0121.

Explore all of the Annex’s available spaces and technology and reserve rooms and workstations in The Stacks.
