A new user interface for the EBSCOhost Research Platform will go live at the beginning of June.

In preparation for the migration, UK Libraries is encouraging users to download or export their custom folder information, which will not migrate automatically into the new interface.

“EBSCO has plans to implement easy migration options that will allow users to replicate their folder structure in the new interface without losing their data, but they have not yet been put into place,” said Jen Montavon-Green, Head of Electronic Resources. “We’re recommending that users with custom folders download or export their records in the event that the migration options aren’t ready before June.”

EBSCO’s custom folder feature allows users to sort and store records for articles and e-books. EBSCO users with custom folders will be able to download or export their records by following these steps:

  • Sign in to your EBSCO account
  • Navigate to your “My Custom” folders
  • Click the link to open a folder
  • Mark the box to “select all” records in the folder
  • On the right hand side of the page, users will find four options: Print, Email, Save as File, and Export
  • Select the option and repeat for other folders

EBSCO has produced a tutorial video of the process with additional details about exporting records directly into reference management programs.

“Permalinks from the old interface should continue to redirect to the new interface without issue,” Montavon-Green added.

EBSCO’s redesigned user experience will introduce new features including personalized dashboards, new ways to share and save resources, and a new e-book interface.
