Books & Other Materials

UK Libraries welcomes gifts of books and other materials that complement our existing collections and further the research and instructional aims of the University of Kentucky. Desirable items will fall within our current collecting priorities and include titles which are not already held by UK Libraries.

Due to cost and space constraints, we are unable to accept all gifts. Gifts will be considered by the appropriate librarian and must be approved before they are accepted. All accepted materials become the property of UK Libraries, who holds sole discretion over retention and all considerations regarding use.

For more information about donations, or to arrange for item approval, please contact refdesk@uky.edu.

Appraisals & Tax Deductions

As a non-cash charitable contribution, your gift may be tax deductible. UK Libraries is prohibited by law from appraising donated materials. If you are seeking a tax deduction, please arrange for a qualified appraisal and consult with your tax preparer or the IRS for further information.
