Seeking continual improvement in our services, resources, and facilities, UK Libraries undertakes assessment to explore the needs of our users and evaluate if and how well we support those needs. We develop, run, and administer periodic and one-shot internal and external assessments, including space surveys and LibQUAL+, a library satisfaction survey, and regularly report data to regional and national library organizations in order to benchmark our performance. These organizations include:

  • The Association of Research Libraries (ARL)
  • The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL)
  • The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System – Academic Libraries (IPEDS)
  • The Association of Southeastern Research Libraries (ASERL)

We annually submit assessment data, plans, and reports to UK's Office of Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness.

Below, you can find up-to-date statistics on UK Libraries usage, engagement, and spaces, along with assessment reports, survey results, and plans.
