Distance Learning Library Services give students and instructors of UK Distance Learning courses access to UK Libraries’ information resources. Your Distance Learning Librarian can help you make the best use of library resources for your courses.

Access, Support, & Services

Like all UK students, Distance Learning students have access to both print and electronic materials from UK Libraries collections, research databases, and Interlibrary Loan services.

Other services we offer include:

  • Research consultations and information literacy instruction sessions
  • Research help through email, chat, phone, or Zoom
  • Copyright assistance
  • Access to an embedded librarian in courses using Canvas
  • Creating course-specific library guides and connecting students to other relevant research guides

For online and hybrid courses not designated as Distance Learning courses, visit our Library Instruction page for more information.

Borrowing Materials

A library card is necessary to request physical materials. Distance Learning students can use their linkblue accounts to access electronic library resources such as databases, online journals, and e-books from off-campus.

UK Libraries will cover the cost of shipping materials for Distance Learning designated courses to you and ask that you cover the cost of returning materials, either by mail or in person. For more information visit our FAQ page.
