Winner Announced for Science & Engineering Library Photo Contest

UK Libraries is proud to name Henry Pruett, a PhD candidate in chemistry at the University of Kentucky, as the winner of the 2021 Science & Engineering Library Photo Contest. Visitors will be able to view Pruett's work on display for years to come at the Science & Engineering Library. More information on Pruett's submission can be found below:

Synthesized Compound / Winning Photo Submission

Title: Synthetic Map

Description: "This is a compound I synthesized as part of my undergrad research. After filtering and drying, the solid product cracked and resembled a map of an old city, full of twisting streets and alleys. The comparison is apropos given the circuitous synthetic route I had to take to get to that final product."

SCIENCE & ENGINEERING LIBRARY PHOTO CONTEST

Each year, UK Libraries' Science & Engineering Library hosts a photo contest, encouraging University of Kentucky students to submit their STEM-inspired photography for a chance to have their work permanently displayed in the Science & Engineering Library. The winning photographer also receives a library swag bag. Stay tuned for updates on next year's contest: libraries.uky.edu/news.php
