DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The University of Kentucky Libraries seeks a creative, dynamic and public-service oriented librarian to fill a position in the Information Services Department in the area of Business resources. Reporting to the Director of Information Services, the successful candidate will serve as Academic Liaison for the College of Business and Economics. Responsibilities include selection of information resources, collection management and evaluation, collection budget management, subject-specific reference and research assistance, and the development of course-related information literacy instruction for the College. The position includes an outreach component through the Kentucky Small Business Development Center (KSBDC) and the Advanced Science and Technology Commercialization Center (AsTECC), within the Office of the Vice President for Commercialization and Economic Development.
The successful candidate will provide face to face and virtual and general reference service (individual and with a team); maintain electronic guides and web pages for specialized library resources; and participate in the Library’s general instructional programs. Some evening and weekend hours are required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required: An MLS degree from an ALA-accredited institution. Minimum of two years experience in an academic library setting. Working knowledge of resources in business and economics. Knowledge of current collection development issues and trends. Strong commitment to public services, excellent communication skills, demonstrated flexibility, and the ability to work well in both team-based and self-directed environments. Commitment to professional development and service.
Preferred Education/Experience: Faculty liaison experience. General reference experience. Advanced level of computer literacy and experience with web page creation and maintenance. Subject background and/or relevant work experience.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and academic/professional qualifications. LIBRARY: The University of Kentucky Libraries system includes the main William T. Young Library, Medical Center Library, Law Library, Special Collections & Digital Programs, Agricultural Information Center, Fine Arts Library, Design Library, Education Library, Engineering Library and five science libraries. Combined holdings total more than 3 million volumes. The system has a staff of 70 librarians and 100 support staff and serves a student body of 28,000. The UK Libraries use the Voyager integrated library system. Library membership includes the Association of Research Libraries, SOLINET, ASERL, and the Center for Research Libraries, and is a regional depository for government publications.
