Goal One: To provide targeted collections and patron services in government documents.
OUTCOMES:
1. Depository patrons can access targeted collections and services.
Assessment procedure:
On a survey, document patrons will acknowledge the depository's
designation of such collections and rate their ability to access these
collections and services as, "Good" or "Excellent."
Count the number of targeted document collections per year.
Criteria for assessment: At least 50-percent of a depository's collection will be targeted.
2. Patrons will use targeted collections.
Assessment procedure:
On a patron survey, ask respondent if FDL met his/her information
need.
Compare the depository's Item Selection Profile with a periodic sampling
of reference requests; measure degree of overlap.
Goal Two: To promote Kentucky FDLs to patron groups and general public.
OUTCOMES:
1. Potential patrons will be aware of the depository's collection.
Assessment procedure:
On a survey of patrons, respondents will indicate how they heard about
the depository.
On the same survey, respondents will indicate their preferred source of
information (flyer, webpage, referral, etc.) on depository collections and
services.
2. Patrons will increase their use of the depository collection.
Assessment procedure:
Count the number of patrons requiring assistance on a periodic basis.
Criteria for assessment:
__ percent usage increase per period.
On a survey of patrons, respondents will indicate that their use of the FDL was prompted by depository-produced promotional materials.
Criteria for assessment:
Gather baseline data.
F. Depository Library Relationships and Cooperation
Goal One: To provide federal depository collections and services to all library patrons.
OUTCOME:
Patrons will find the information they need in all home congressional district depositories.

provided are equitable among depositories in the various districts.
Goal Two:To ensure that all depository libraries follow the State Plan for KY FDLs.
OUTCOMES:
1. Each depository library will abide by the policies and procedures found in the document, Instructions to Depository Libraries (GP 3.26:D 44) and established by the Regional Depository Library. (See Appendix B link to RDL Instructions)
2. Each depository will implement a select number of goals set forth in the State Plan.
3. The Regional Depository, depository librarians and staff, and depository library directors will be informed on all matters related to the State Plan and its obligations, as well as on FDL governing regulations.
Suggested assessment procedures (apply to all three outcomes):
Criteria for assessment:
__ % compliance with DLS recommendations and suggestions.
Goal Three: To provide statewide support for depository library operations and services in Kentucky.
OUTCOMES:
1. The Regional Depository will keep depository libraries informed of changes in DL personnel, organization, policies and procedures that might affect them.
2. Depository librarians will be able to discuss operational and service issues in established forums on a periodic basis.
3. The Regional Depository will fulfill its federally prescribed mission and role with the assistance of the depository libraries.
