Center for Research Libraries

The University Libraries is a member of the Center for Research Libraries (CRL), which allows local access through ILL to the Center's collection of unique and rarely-held research materials. CRL will lend any materials from its collections in unlimited quantities for an indefinite loan period. Under its demand purchase program, the Center will consider acquiring, for loan to member libraries: material in certain categories, such as doctoral dissertations written at institutions outside the US and Canada; newspapers in microform; and archival materials in microform that record the activities of national governments.

CRL's holdings information may be searched via their catalog.

The Association of Southeastern Research Libraries provides KUDZU, a system of linked online catalogs at 18 research libraries across the Southeast, to connect more than 180,000 students and faculty to more than 23 million volumes. The system allows users to browse the participating catalogs using a single search interface, and (soon) to submit interlibrary loan requests directly to the source library. For now, use ILLiad to request materials from KUDZU member libraries. Using existing systems at each participating site, most documents can be delivered within two days.

The participating institutions in this phase of the KUDZU project are:

Auburn University
Clemson University
East Carolina University
Mississippi State University
Tulane University
University of Alabama
University of Alabama - Birmingham
University of Kentucky
University of Louisville
University of Memphis
