The UK Libraries were designated a land-grant Federal Depository library in 1907, shortly after the Wright brothers made their first flight at Kitty Hawk, NC, in 1903. This flight was re-enacted to celebrate the golden anniversary of the flight in 1953; see p. 16 of H. Doc 480 from the 83rd Congress.
Reenactment of the flight by Billy Parker, p. 16.
