Year of China

UK Libraries sponsored a number of activities in support of the College of Arts and Sciences Year in China.  The year began with an exhibit on Chinese Calligraphy in the Lucille Caudill Little Fine Arts Library. The exhibit included books about Chinese Calligraphy along with the tools used to produced fine calligraphy. In October, an additional exhibit was mounted in the Lucille Caudill Little Fine Arts Library about the Monkey King that included a display of children's books on the topic. In February of 2012 an electronic exhibit entitled Traveling Through China was mounted in the Hub in William T. Young Library.  This exhibit featured 19th Century postcards sent home by travellers in China. Also during the spring semester the library co-sponsored two programs: Chinese Musical Instruments: Then and Now by Dr. K. T. Han and Chinese Acupuncture by Dr. Connie Jennings.
