Evaluating Web Information

There are numerous popular search engines available on the web, but they aren't necessarily the best to use to find scientific information. Schedule a training session with one of the AIC staff, and you'll learn how to evaluate information on the web. This training will include:

  • Evaluating fact/information accuracy
  • Evaluating whether the information is current and up-to-date
  • Recognizing spin, propaganda, and false information for humorous or malicious purposes
  • Evaluating the authority of the information distributors

Training in evaluating information on the web is available to all students, faculty, and staff of the College of Agriculture, School of Human Environmental Sciences, and Department of Biology. The AIC can accommodate individuals as well as larger groups for this type of training.
