ILLiad eliminates the need to enter personal information for each new request. Medical Center Library users are now able to create an account in ILLiad through an easy one-time registration.
Users are asked to enter their personal information, contact information, and delivery preferences only once, at the time they submit their first request. Subsequent requests are entered using the user name and password created during the initial registration process.
In addition to placing requests, registered users are able to view a history of their filled and unfilled requests, resubmit cancelled requests, and change personal information and preferences. ILLiad makes it possible for Medical Center faculty, staff and students to track the progress of submitted requests from any Web browser at any time, without having to contact the Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery Services Department.
ILLiad enables ILL/Document Delivery personnel to provide improved service and response time to inquiries from Medical Center Library users since all information associated with each request, from the time of its submission through completion and delivery, is stored in a searchable database for easy tracking.
One of the most convenient functions of ILLiad is the integrated electronic delivery component. This tool allows us to provide electronic transmission of articles to our users within a single seamless Web interface.
