Need to find articles on your research topic? Are there subject specific, citation or general databases that will lead you to citations of articles and then to the full-text of the articles? Where do you start? These questions will be answered in this quick-paced class. In 60 minutes, discover that in the health sciences/medical information world, you can use other databases besides MEDLINE. Some databases are specific to evidence-based medicine articles. Bring a topic of interest with you and leave with citations and, perhaps, a few full-text articles.
UK faculty, staff and students use their UK Wildcard as their library card. Persons not affiliated with UK may obtain a library card if they are 18 years of age and present a valid Kentucky driver's license or a valid non-driver ID. Faculty, staff, and students from reciprocal colleges and universities in Kentucky may obtain a UK library card with proper identification. Anyone with a UK library card may check out materials in the Medical Center Library or any UK campus library.
The Medical Center Library sends library notices via e-mail.
If a book, journal, or audiovisual you need is checked out, you may place a hold on it so that when it is returned to the Medical Center Library it will be held at the User Services desk for you. You will be notified when it is available.
Contact Genia Kempster if you have questions about placing a hold on library materials or for any questions related to borrowing library materials.
