Staff from Reference Services area are available at the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor of William T. Young Library to help students, faculty, and other library patrons make effective use of the library. They can assist users by locating answers to specific questions or by explaining the use of InfoKat, the Libraries' online catalog, other electronic resources, journal indexes, and other reference material. They will also assist users in verifying and locating the Libraries' periodicals holdings. For more information on periodicals, newspapers and microforms, see the Periodicals website.
The Reference Services staff will also schedule library tours and/or instructional sessions for classes and other groups. Online request forms are available to schedule a tour or schedule an instruction session. For individual consultations or for sessions for groups of three or fewer, use this Consultation Request Form. If you prefer to use self-directed training aids, see the Research Guides pages.
Assistance and special equipment are available for disabled patrons; see the Disability Services Page.
The library is a regional depository for U.S. government information. These materials, as well as British parliamentary papers, Kentucky state government publications, U.N. and European Union depository publications, and over one million technical reports, are available in the libraries' collections.
