William T. Young Library is the central library in the University of Kentucky library system. Young Library houses a general undergraduate collection as well as materials in agriculture, biology, business, humanities, and the social sciences. The library is home to the Student Media Depot, the Hemenway Writing Center, Presentation U, and the Ricoh Document Service Center.

Located in Room 227 on the Second Floor of Dickey Hall, the Education Library supports the learning, teaching, and research needs of the College of Education. We are home to the Butler Education Studio, a maker space with a variety of self-serve craft materials and a 3D printer. We hold an extensive juvenile collection as well as materials on educational counseling, rehab counseling, health and kinesiology, and teacher education.

We support learning, teaching, and research across the arts, and offer research help and library instruction services. The library is home to the John Jacob Niles Center for American Music, which includes the Niles Gallery and the Niles Reading Room.

The Science & Engineering Library supports the learning, teaching, and research needs of UK students, faculty, staff, and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The library holds the astronomy, chemistry, earth and environmental science, mathematics, physics, statistics, and most engineering disciplines collections. It is also home to the Gwen Curtis Map Collection and the GIS Lab.

The Special Collections Research Center preserves materials documenting the social, cultural, economic, and political history of Kentucky. The SCRC is home to UK Libraries' collection of rare books, Kentuckiana, the Archives, the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History, the King Library Press, the Bert T. Combs Appalachian Collection, the John G. Heyburn II Initiative for Excellence in the Federal Judiciary, and the Wendell H. Ford Public Policy Research Center.
