In This Together: Documenting COVID-19 in the Commonwealth
University of Kentucky Libraries is launching a project to document the personal experiences of those who live, work or study in Kentucky during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. Your stories will be preserved in the UK Libraries Special Collections Research Center along with other records about this time period. We invite all Kentuckians to share your oral histories, audio recordings, written stories, diary entries, photographs, videos, art and other documentation about the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are interested in your stories about working as an essential employee, studying and working from home, income loss, your daily routine, the emotional impact of the pandemic, maintaining relationships and sustaining communities during this period of social distancing and self-quarantine. Personal accounts can range from direct observations to artistic reflection.
This does not have to be a one-time submission! Feel free to contribute your thoughts and experiences multiple times over the coming months as we continue to move through this historic event. Please comply with local and state stay-at-home orders while self-documenting.
The Submission Process
Contribute your story here. You will be able to sign an agreement allowing the Special Collections Research Center to preserve your submission, and you will receive important information about the copyright and use of your content.
The Special Collections Research Center can accept just about any format you create, but if you're uncertain about something in particular and need technical assistance, please reach out to SCRC@g.uky.edu. We can help!
