Special Usage Notes
Click the Download (Offline) link for the eBook you would like to download.
Select the Checkout period (7 days) from the drop-down menu and click the Checkout & Download button.
The eBook will be added to the Checkouts area of the folder. If you are not logged into your My EBSCOhost folder, you will be prompted to do so.
Select Open with or Save File from the resulting dialog box.
If you select Open with, your eBook will be opened with Adobe® Digital Editions. If you select Save file, the eBook will be saved to your computer and can be opened with Adobe® Digital Editions at a later time.
When a downloaded eBook is opened, it is displayed in Adobe® Digital Editions.
After you check-out and download your eBook:
You may choose to transfer your eBook to your Adobe Digital Editions-compatible eBook Reader device.
You can re-download the eBook from your My EBSCOhost folder at any time during your checkout period.
To "Close" an eBook so that it is available to others:
Clicking "Detailed Record" or "Return to Search" if you are on the detailed record page does not actually close the book. If the book is left idle for 30 minutes, it will time out on its own, but using one of the above methods eliminates any delay for other users.

Downloading eBooks on EBSCOhost to iPad/Kindle Fire
eBooks on EBSCOhost are downloadable to both the iPad and Kindle Fire via the Bluefire app.

Mac users please note: If you have trouble reading full-text PDFs, you can install a plug-in that will allow you to read the full-text. This resource, however, does NOT support Safari. The plug-in does work with FireFox, however.
Instructions for Installing the Schubert PDF Browser Plug-in on a Macintosh Computer:
1. Direct your web browser to <http://www.schubert-it.com/>.
2. Click on the Downloads Link at the top of the page.
3. Choose the appropriate PDF Browser Plug-in.
4. Install the plug-in in the Library/Internet Plug-ins Folder.
5. Restart your browser.
When a DjVu plug-in is required on any type of machine: The DjVu plug-in may be required. You can install that plug-in using the eBook link or use this alternative link on a personal machine; the DjVu plug-in is not supported on the Libraries' computers.
If a new PDF opens each time you turn the page of an eBook in the eBook viewer in EBSCOhost, this can be corrected by changing a setting in Adobe Reader. To ensure eBooks are displayed in the eBook viewer in the browser window:
1. Launch Adobe Reader.
2. Click the Edit menu in the toolbar at the top of Adobe Reader.
3. Select Preferences from the drop-down list of options.
4. Select Internet in the left-column of the resulting menu.
5. Mark the check box Display PDF in browser.
6. Click OK.
