You also have access to Early American Imprints, Series I: Evans, 1639-1800. From Aaron Burr to Zebulon Pike, from abolitionism to Tippecanoe, more than four million pages cover westward expansion, the development of American arts, the progression of American political thought and much more. In addition to books, broadsides and pamphlets, the collection includes published reports and the works of many European authors reprinted for the American public. Additionally, a large number of state papers and early government materials—including presidential letters and congressional, state and territorial resolutions—chronicle the political and geographic growth of the developing American nation. Subjects include the 12th Amendment, Bible societies, canals, Embargo Act, fur trade, Lewis & Clark Expedition, Louisiana Purchase, nationalism, Panic of 1819, Romanticism, Seminole War, Treaty of Ghent, and the War of 1812. Genres include magic tricks, funeral hymns, fools and jesters, tobacco, dolls, and Indian captivities. The Series also includes Kentucky public documents: e.g., journals of the state House and Senate, public laws, and church records. Digital facsimile page images of books, pamphlets, newspapers, and manuscripts of works printed in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and British North America as well as works in English printed elsewhere. From the first book published in English through the age of Spenser and Shakespeare, this collection contains the texts of about 100,000 of over 125,000 titles listed in Pollard and Redgrave's Short-Title Catalogue (1475-1640) and Wing's Short-Title Catalogue (1641-1700) and their revised editions, as well as the Thomason Tracts (1640-1661) collection and the Early English Books Tract Supplement. Coverage includes English literature, history, philosophy, linguistics, theology, music, fine arts, education, mathematics, and science.

    • In the top right corner, use Exit OR
    • In the top left corner, use <<Back

    Clicking "Detailed Record" or "Return to Search" if you are on the detailed record page does not actually close the book. If the book is left idle for 30 minutes, it will time out on its own, but using one of the above methods eliminates any delay for other users.
