Description:
Addresses five basic concerns: the application of educational psychology across the life span, assessment and instructional decision making, teaching core skills and content, general methods of instruction, and teaching special populations. The most prominent emphasis is the identification of effective educational practices. Also emphasizes the theoretical orientations underlying each period of development, core skill or content area, and instructional method. Although many of the theories that are examined in Volume 1 reappear in the chapters in Volume 3, they are now contextualized in a specific field of study.

Research Guides Philosophy & Religion, Psychology,
Description:
Contains descriptions of many techniques that psychologists and others have developed to help them pursue a shared understanding of why humans think, feel, and behave the way they do. Addresses (a) what data or measurement techniques will best capture the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that interest you; (b) what research design best fits the question that you want to answer; and (c) what strategies for data analysis best match the characteristics of your design and measurements. This volume focuses on the broadest questions related to research designs. These involve both (a) which research designs are most appropriate for which question and (b) how to think about the ethicality and feasibility of the designs that address your question and the measures available to you. It also describes the types of data that psychologists most often collect and how to determine whether the measurement techniques that you might choose are the best ones for your purpose.

APA Practice Guidelines are patient care strategies intended to assist psychiatrists in clinical decision-making. Guidelines are developed based on the degree of public importance, relevance to psychiatric practice, availability of information and relevant data, availability of work already done that could be useful in its development, and degree to which increased psychiatric attention in that area would be helpful to the field. APA Practice Guidelines meet the needs of advancing clinical knowledge and enriching and expanding the skills of APA members with the ultimate goal of improving patient care.
